The Central Oregon Youth Orchestra (COYO) has received a most honorable invitation to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City on June 14th, 2015. The Distinguished Concerts International program in New York (DCINY) recently selected our Youth Orchestra to perform. Carnegie Hall is the dream venue for any musician as truly one of the most prestigious venues in the world for both classical and popular music. The COYO program was founded and launched in the spring of 2013. To date the Youth Orchesta students have performed three public concerts and due to fast growing interest, a Junior Symphony strings only ensemble was added last fall. COYO also supports and sponsors chamber music activities and recently held their first ever concerto festival for a chance to play with the orchestra.
GOING TO NEW YORK AND CARNEGIE HALL!!
COYO's first step is to raise our performance venue deposit.
The deposit confirms COYO's performance at Carnegie Hall. There are 60 members in COYO and each student is asked at this time to deposit $200.
This is where you can help:
1) Your contribution will be directly applied to the deposit.
2) Your support launches this dream and once in a life time opportunity for each musician.
3) Our deposit is due May 29, 2014
Eager fundraising efforts have already begun! COYO's active Board of Directors is meeting, discussing, organizing and preparing a fundraising campaign to benefit our incredible students! All funds received now and throughout our campaign will be used to support all COYO performers.
4) The Central Oregon Youth Orchestra is a tax-exempt,
non-profit, public charity under the IRS code section 501(c)(3)

NEXT Season 2014-2015: COYO will also welcome two-time Grammy award winning composer Christopher Tin to Central Oregon as our guest artist in residence. COYO will have the wonderful privilege to rehearse and perform music by Mr. Tin.
Next year in New York, COYO will again enjoy the privilege of collaborating with Mr. Tin at Carnegie Hall.
Mr. Tin's work covers diverse terrain: from thrilling fusions of orchestral and world music, to brooding reinventions of 90s electronica, to award-winning scores for film, video games, and commercials. His debut album Calling All Dawns won two Grammys at the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards in 2011: Best Classical Crossover Album, and Best Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying Vocalists for the song 'Baba Yetu'. Both wins were historic: Calling All Dawns was the last album ever to win the Best Classical Crossover Album category, and 'Baba Yetu' made history as the first piece of music written for a video game ever to be nominated for, or win, a Grammy.
