Many local mom & pop restaurateurs are seeing their businesses and livelihoods vanish before their eyes due to decreased foot traffic and sales resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.

While sales have decreased or stopped all together, operating expenses have remained and are threatening the closure of some of the defining cuisines of our local communities across the country.

Throughout these past few months, I have watched some of my favorite restaurants close for good and realized that I have an opportunity to leverage my connections and network to raise money to help out struggling restauranteurs in need.

As part of founding the COVID-19 Relief Fund for Mom & Pop Restauranteurs, our goal is to raise $10M via the GoFundMe link below, and distribute 100% of its proceeds to single-location restaurant owners struggling to pay their fixed expenses necessary to weather the remainder of this pandemic.

We have received interest from several Fortune 200 companies and philanthropists who would like to contribute to this fund, but first want an understanding of who their donations will be going to, and what expenses they are looking for support on to ensure that their support is provided to the right people.

Our Ask:

If you are in need of a donation to maintain your restaurant’s operations, please send over an email to [email redacted] with a few paragraphs providing some background on your restaurant’s hardships and what expenses you require support on to stay in business.

This note will be compiled with submissions from other restauranteurs, which we will provide to the companies and people interested in donating to give them a better understanding of what their donations will be used for.

These notes are vital to getting our donors on board, and the sooner we can compile these, the sooner we can distribute funds necessary to those in need.
