Buster's Road to Recovery

This past weekend my sweet boy collapsed and lost the use of his hind legs. I rushed him to the emergency vet to discover that he most likely had developed Intervertebral Disc Disease/Ruptured disc. After a battery of tests it was determined that he did indeed have Intervertebral Disc Disease, Category 5 (paraplegic with no “deep pain” perception, the worst kind) and it was a surgical emergency and even with surgery he only had a 40% chance of ever walking again and would most likely be incontinent. After many tears and prayers in the moment I knew there was no choice to make, I would do whatever it took to try and help him; otherwise I would feel that I had failed him and after everything he has went through in his first three years of life, failing him was not an option.


To date I have incurred $7455.00 of Veterinary Bills for the testing, surgery, and hospitalization. The neurosurgeon said that the next few days will be critical. Hopefully he will begin to gain pain perception in his hind legs which would be promising towards him being able to urinate on his own. I have not even begun to think about what physical therapy and a cart will cost as I am trying to take this day by day, but I could not imagine my life without Buster.

Some wonderful friends of mine suggested starting this fund in the hopes that Buster can receive all the care he deserves and get back to his happy, loving, and playful self as soon as possible.
