Bryce's Oxygen Tank / Medical Exp.

Just about a year ago my brother Bryce (53) was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis and Rheumatoid in his lungs. This is a terminal illness caused by asbestos exposure. Bryce was forced because of his illness to leave his longterm employment. The Drs. prognosis was 3 - 5 years before this disease shuts down (freezes) his lungs completely. Lincare came last week and removed his oxygen tank and his portable tank because his insurance coverage from his former job has run out. We have been researching portable tanks. They range from $2,500.00 - $3,500.00. He needs an oxygen concentrator that goes 5-6 liters. Without insurance it would cost him $400.00 a month to rent his oxygen. When he found out that he was terminal and had to go on disability he lost his insurance. He makes too much for "Maine Care" ($290 over) and regular insurance companies deny him coverage when they find out that he is terminal. The insurance that he had would keep him, but they quoted him a price of $2,700.00 a month. He now has to pay out of pocket for his prescriptions and Dr.s appointments. He is still living independently so he also has rent and food expenses. He already has insurmountable hospital bills  sadly with many more to come. He needs an oxygen tank asap and other monies collected will go to pay past and future medical bills. We would like to make whatever time he has left with his family and friends bearable and happy and decrease some of the stress he lives through everyday.
