Brother down but not out...Go Fund Me...
Well sportz fans, I never thought it would come to this but all I can say is it's time to man up n' play the hand I've been delt. Those of you who know me, know this is one of the hardest things I have ever done and if there was any other way...Well here goes, I guess it all started about three years ago when I went into the hospital with stomach pains. It turned out to be gall stones, pretty straight foward right. Not so fast, it seems my gall bladder was so bad the stones went into my pancreas and caused my pancreas to stop working. At first they thought it was cancer, scary shit and the survival rate is really low, like 4 to 6 percent for pancreatic cancer. They did some more tests and turned out all I needed was to have my gall bladder removed and my pancreis scraped, while they were at it they fixed a double hernia that had my belly button stickin out about two inches. After the three surgeries it took me almost three months to get back to work in my shop. Being out of the shop with no money coming in really made the bills add up, but I was still hanging on. Like they say when shit happen's it usally comes in three's...well not two weeks later I end up back in the hospital. After finally gettin back to work and trying to hold on to my business, I blow out my knee, two surgries later and five holes in my knee I get some sort of infection and both my legs swell up like balloons. Fourteen weeks on some really strong antibiotics through a pec lock in my chest and my legs finally start to get back to normal. When this all started I was 62, while I'm in the hospital they notice my breathing is, well lets just say not real good. They run me through some breathing tests and tell me I have COPD and put me on medication. Well by this time I've completely lost my business and had to sell all of my equipment, parts and just about everything that wasen't nailed down just to keep a roof over our heads. Ended up going on early SSI retirement disabled and having to move into an efficiency apartment. Now two years later when I thought it couldn't get any worse the third shoe drops. Two weeks ago I went in for my yearly check up, they take a blood test and tell me they will contact me with the results...last week I go in for the results and the doctor tells me my PSA is really high, I ask him what that means, he tells me prostate and he has scheduled me to see a urolgist. Normal PSA is like 2 to 3 and 4 is considered high, well mine is 13. I went to the urolgists had an exam and they found lumps, and he then tells me it's cancer. I'm going back on the sixth for the dye and more scans to see how many. Then on the elevnth I go for the biopsi to find how far along the cancer is, as in stage 1,2,3, or 4. My wife and I combined get 1,100 dollars a month from SSI and I end up a couple a hundred dollars short a month after rent, doctor visits, medication and all the rest of our monthly bills. I have a life long Brother in Florida, that ownes a small apartment complex, he has offered me an efficiency apartment rent free, all I have to do is get there. The only shot I have is to try a Go Fund Me page and see if I can get my self out from under this ever mounting pile of bills and finance the move to Florida and concentrate on fighting this cancer. My goal is to try and raise 4,000 to pay off existing bills and to fund the move to Florida as soon as possibile, the earlier I start treatment the better chance I have of beating this, any and all help will be greatly appreciated. To put it as simply as possibile...for the first time in my life, I'm out of business, out of dough and out of options...THANX and GOD BLESS...
