Help Brittney Fight Cancer

Our dearest Brittney was diagnosed with a malignant tumour in her jaw bone on October 1st. She is overcoming a form of cancer called osteosarcoma, which is the same type of cancer Terry Fox had. She has moved to Courtenay with her mom, and travels to Victoria every three weeks to receive treatment. So far, the treatment looks like three rounds of chemotherapy over nine weeks, followed by major surgery to remove the remainder of the tumour and reconstruct her jaw, followed by three more rounds of chemotherapy.
This incredibly difficult time also comes with many unanticipated costs. Brittney is now unable to work and her employment insurance, unfortunately, finished in October. We forecast that to cover Brittney’s expenses, we will need roughly $12,000, just for the next four Months. To name a few, beyond Brittney’s regular living costs, we have the cost of a medical grade alkaline water machine, travel expenses, Nutritionist and Naturopathic costs, medication that goes above and beyond what’s provided by Health Canada, plus Oral Surgeon and Dentist appointments.
We intend to work with a Naturopathic Doctor that specializes in cancer patients, as well as a Nutritionist who specializes in chemotherapy friendly diets. By combining conventional medicine with alternative health care we aim to minimize the hardships of chemotherapy, as well as bolster Brittney’s recovery.
