Bringing Katie Back

While visiting her brother, in South Carolina, after open heart surgery Katie encountered a young man who indicated he would appreciate a ride to the hospital. Katie's only mistake was her willingness to help. In route, this monster in lambs clothing pulled a gun and forced her to drive to an isolated area. She did everything right from that moment on. She leaped from the moving vehicle and ran for her life. He chased her down, caught her, and in a brutal attack broke her neck in 4 places and repeatedly fractured her skull. Begging for her life she offered him money if he let her up. Back in the car another struggle ensued causing the vehicle to lose control and crash into a tree. Katie came to first, and with Herculean resolve crawled from the totaled car to summons help from a passing motorist. Her assailant has been charged with Kidnapping, Criminal Assault First Degree, Unlawful carrying of a pistol, and Possession of a Weapon during the commission of a violent crime. He is likely to be charged with Attempted Murder as well. Katie has already undergone two surgeries. Once out of ICU Katie will require in-house rehabilitation to learn to use her extremities again. Katie does not have insurance. We are asking the community to rally around her. We are asking the Universe to surround her with love in this long road to recovery.
