Bob Clark: Bring Him Home

This GoFundMe page is dedicated to fund medical and transportation costs incurred by the hospitalization of Bob Clark while in Budapest, Hungary.
On May 20, 2016, Bob and Sonya, his wife of 58 years, left for a European Riverboat Cruise that would fulfill one of Bob’s greatest wishes, inspired by Composer Johann Strauss II: To sail the waters of the Blue Danube River. Shortly after their arrival in Hungary, Bob became extremely ill and was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia. His condition quickly deteriorated and he was moved to the Intensive Care Unit. Without fail, Sonya has been at his side. Their oldest daughter flew to Budapest to help and support them both.
After spending 2 weeks in the hospital and after weighing all of the options, we have decided it is in his best interest to fly him home via Air Ambulance. His return trip will be medically supervised and will facilitate immediate admission into a local, more advanced ICU. The air ambulance fees are $85,000. In addition, Medicare will NOT cover any of his mounting hospital bills because he is out of the country. These two sobering facts have weighed heavily on the family during this difficult time.
Bob Clark has spent his life blessing the lives of those around him: Husband, father, brother, friend. He helped heal the sick as a Family Physician. He helped comfort those in need of comfort in his service in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. As always, Sonya was at his side, working, serving, and blessing those around her in her own capacities: wife, mother, office manager, and missionary companion. She is a gentle, steadfast example of service.
As their children, we know neither of them would ever think of asking for help; however, as their children we also know how many lives they have touched and how many friends and loved ones have reached out and asked how to help our parents in their time of need. Your love, support, and prayers have always been our first answer. This is now our second. For their sake, we are grateful for both.
