Brenda Kioh

My name is Lindsay Noel and I am starting this account for a dear friend of mine, Brenda Kioh.  Recently, Brenda unexpectedly lost her husband, Randy, due to a massive stroke.  They were on vacation in New Orleans getting ready to go on a cruise that they have been planning for the last year. On the morning of 2/4/18, they were getting ready at the hotel to go and board the cruise ship when Brenda noticed that Randy was just sitting on the edge of the bed and not talking, something was wrong.  She knew he was having a stroke and immediately called 911.  He was taken to a level 1 stroke hospital and received TPA and clot retrieval but the stroke had done its damage.  He was unable to breath on his own so the doctor had to intubate him and place him on a ventilator.  Shortly after they took him to have an MRI of the brain.  The results were not what anyone wanted to hear. The damage of the stroke was enormous and it would take Randy's life.  On 2/6/18 Brenda made the most difficult decision of her life.  She had to tell the hospital team to remove the breathing tube so her husband could finish his journey.  On 2/7/18, at 3:11 pm and passed away with his wife and kids by his side. Brenda is now faced with the hardship of getting Randy back to Missouri, planning a funeral, and figuring out what her plan B is.  She will have hospital bills from New Orleans to face in the future, she needs to learn how to drive for the 1st time in her life, and she needs time to re-group.  

Whatever you can give to help go towards the cost of bringing Randy’s body back to Missouri, help cover New Orleans hospital bills, and help Brenda take some time off would be more than appreciated as she exhausted her PTO for this trip.  Please keep Brenda and her family in your thoughts and prayers through this difficult time and again thank you for contribution.
