Brashear Project

Mrs. Brashear is the 75 year old wheelchair bound ex-wife of the late Master Chief Carl Brashear, the same man depicted in the movie Men of Honor by Cuba Gooding Jr.  I'm working with community partners, the VFW, Habitat for Humanity and businesses that are volunteering their services to help make Mrs. Brashear home handicap accessible.  The old, roughly 800 sq ft home upon closer inspection was lacking heating and air conditioning, termite damaged and had asbestos insulation, antiquated appliances and not accessible at all for Mrs. Brashear and her wheelchair.  The Navy Chaplain Corps has provided funding to find a temporary place for Mrs. Brashear while the home is being repaired. She's in a handicap accessible apartment for the next 90 days.

100% of the funds raised will be going towards finishing the home, purchasing handicap compliant fixtures, plumbing and accessible appliances. To offset the cost and finish the home I'm asking for your help. SHARE this page and contact me for details or questions.
