Please help our dear friend Brad Lefkiades get through his illness without being homeless!
Brad is a kind, generous, and loving person. He continues to give us his amazing smile, while maintaining a positive outlook in the face of debilitating illness.
Brad was laid off his job in 2016 after 20 years of service due to company downsizing after being aquired. He recieved only 20 weeks of unemployment. He had been looking for work since, using his savings to pay bills.
At Thanksgiving last year, Brad got the flu, which quickly developed into pneumonia. Soon Brads lungs filled with fluid and his heart stopped more than once. Although he was resucitated, Brad has been in atrial fibrilliation ( a heart rate around 160 or higher) ever since, and attempts to convert the rythm has not been successful thus far. To complicate things, the medication prescribed to help get rid of extra fluid from this high heart rate began to shut down his kidneys. Thankfully, the kidnesy are currently working although there is a small amount of damage to them.
Brad is scheduled for open heart surgery in a few weeks and an extensive recovery is expected. Brad applied for disability and has been denied, which is currently on appeal. At this time, our friend has exhausted his savings and unemployment and he faces becoming homeless without our help! At this time, Brad can't pay his heat/electric and phone, and his home is in early foreclosure.
Please find it in your heart to help our friend, who has always been there for us. No amount is too small, and we just need to keep his home warm, with a phone for emergency, and food on his table at this point. We ask that even if you don't know Brad, that you help us, help him and simply Pay It Forward. He has been an inspiration to others, and now we want to give back and help him back to a healthy life and vibrant future. If you can't give, please pray.
