Boys Can Sing ... Only Boys Aloud!

Things were a bit different in 1982 when Artistic Director William R. Adams founded the Fort Bend Boys Choir with just 45 members in one choir.  There were no digital cameras, smart phones or the world wide web. The Commodore 64 computer was just released, the movie E.T. was a runaway hit and the price of gas was a mere 91 cents a gallon!

Flash forward to our 35th anniversary season kicking off this year, the Fort Bend Boys Choir now has 150 boys in four choirs, making it one of the largest independent boychoirs in the world!  Boys who love to sing has remained a constant through so many world changes.

This 2016-2017 performance season will bring many fun and exciting things in celebration of our 35th anniversary. Alumni, do you recall your first summer vocal camp? Perhaps winter camp and the campfires count among your fondest choir memories. Do you remember the anticipation and excitement of that first summer performance tour? Alumni, you are in the best position to know what the Fort Bend Boys Choir has meant to you and what it means to our choirboys.

We are appealing to our almost 6,000 alumni to help us reach our initial fundraising goal of $10,000! Because we never turn a boy away due to financial reasons, your support this 35th anniversary season is so important. From the season’s start with summer vocal camp in August 2016 to our 35th anniversary performance tour to Switzerland in June 2017, several Tour choirboys can have those same life-changing, character-building experiences you did!
