Boracay Champagne Lounge

Dear friends, family, acquaintances and strangers!

I am writing to you now as I need all the help I can get and I hope you want to assist one way or another.

I am a 36 year old woman from Norway who has spent 10 years in England, but my heart is in the Philippines, where my dad is from. My father now lives in Boracay, and I hope to move here myself soon.

Boracay is a beautiful place with hospitable and friendly people. The Island is a holiday paradise, last year 1.5 million people visited, and the popularity is growing. The locals that work here will do anything in their power to make the guests’ stay a pleasant one. This is despite that their low minimum wage stands in the way of them ever having the opportunity to live even half the standard of living as the tourist they serve. I want to do something about that, and that is where you come in.

I have found a building for sale which I have fallen in love with. It is right on the beach, but in the quiet part of White Beach, close to Willy’s Rock. The pictures attached show the front, view inside from the first floor, and view from the roof terrace. It has previously been a club, and I want to turn it in to a champagne lounge. There are only tiny changes needed to carry out with the building for this purpose, and there is no direct competition for this on Boracay. On the ground floor I plan to have a business hub/cafè/bookswap/shop/dogshelter in the daytime, and then the champagne lounge with tastings and sale will open in the late afternoon and be on the first floor and roof top. This will be the perfect spot to enjoy a quiet drink and watch the beautiful sunset. When the income allows it, I will hire locals to work for me and pay them a decent salary. All other excess income will also be used to help the local community in any way I can.

What I need now is help to secure this building, as I can’t afford it on my own, and there are several interested buyers. I am selling my apartment and my car, but this is still not enough so I am reaching out to everyone possible to ask for help. Please also note my urgency as I have max 2 months to pay all the money for the building.

I will never forget those who help me now. All contributions will get on my “Wall of Fame”, bigger contributions will get a chair or a table with their name on, and the big investments will get a suitable share in my business. I will of course write up contracts and send necessary information to all those who wish.

Thank you for reading this, and I hope you can consider giving me a Christmas/birthday present to help me fulfill my dream.

I will also appreciate anyone who wants to pass this on to anyone you think are interested in giving some direct development aid in a country that suffers from great corruption.

Kind regards,
