Bonnie Needs an Operation

Meet my friend Bonnie Heiligmann from Lexington, MA. She runs/owns a flower shop in Bedford, MA, Art of Flowers by Bonnie.  Bonnie needs an operation.


Bonnie has had Ulcerative Colitis since 2007, about the time she opened her flower shop in 2006.  She needs to go into Boston every few weeks for expensive, tedious, intravenous treatments.  In addition, she has a worsening Umbilical Hernia which developed from a Splenectomy back in 2008, that the doctors tell her must be repaired, before it gets worse and ruptures. Unfortunately for Bonnie, she has neither the money for the operation nor a suitable replacement for her one-woman Floral Design shop.

Those of you with ongoing medical problems know how medical bills decimate your ability to pay for everything else, even with insurance.  The burden of high rent for both the shop, her house, repairs to her car, and shop delivery van have fallen by the wayside because of medical bills. Hernias are potentially fatal if left untreated. I do not want Bonnie to die without an operation. She needs our help fast.

She needs about $10,000 to pay back rent, repair her cars and van, and get the hernia operation.

Why give to Bonnie? I am asking on behalf of my friend because she works so very hard; 7 days a week and rarely gets a day off. Bonnie helps everyone in need, including animals. (This caused her to get bitten by a raccoon last winter while feeding feral cats.) She would never ask for herself.
