Blacksmiths Assemble! is a full service blacksmith studio in the heart of downtown Toronto. It provides artists and students with access to the tools, materials and help to create great art. Some of the projects are used to build sculptures for non-profits that help them raise capital funds for their agency.
The funds will be used to purchase a new 460 lb anvil for the shop to allow bigger
work to be properly supported, and for a new forge that can be configured to heat irregular shaped material.
We are looking to start using the new equipment in the mid to late Q1 of 2018.
Your support means everything. As a newly minted artist blacksmith, and starting a second career at 50, the chance to build and grow this artists maker space will be the fulfillment of a lifetime dream. 32 years spent as a social worker in the front lines of homeless services took a toll, and this project is my way back.
As an expression of my deeep gratitude for your support, I wll be making special pieces available at various subscription levels as my way of saying thanks.
