Black Owned NightClub Downtown Chicago Start up

Support for Black Owned Start Up Business

We are no stranger to the challenges of the Black community in a world that has more often than not been insensitive and even downright cruel to us. Being a black man in America, I don’t have to look far to know that racial discrimination has suppressed our community for far too long.

I am Paul, the owner of “Lambo Promotions”, an events company that has been in the market for 6 years. As a black business owner trying to make a mark in the pre-dominantly white Chicago’s nightlife business, I know from experience that the industry can ruthlessly if you don’t look or act the way they want you to. There have been countless times when black people have been denied entry in certain downtown Chicago clubs that apparently only welcome a more “refined” crowd. The nightlife today does not have any black-owned business. Racism and sexism are the medium of operation and management is disrespectful towards guests if they don’t fit the crowd.

This is the saturation point and I think we all agree that enough is enough. So, here I am with the aim to change the nightlife scene in Chicago to make it more inclusive and welcoming to people of all colors and from all walks of life. I plan to open a large performance-based venue with a night club conversion, added high-end mini club, rooftop bar, small after-hours restaurant, and small interactive museum from local artists. With safety being our number 1 priority, we will have a training program that will teach de-escalation peacefully. This will help in making the neighborhood around the night club safer than most. Unlike night club contracting jobs today where contractors are underpaid and over-utilized, my nightclub business will focus on partnering with them on a long-term basis thereby also giving them equal and fair opportunities to grow. The venue will be fully open-aired and ventilated during Covid-19.

The goal for my team is to collect funding of $500,000 to get started once Chicago fully recovers from COVID-19. The funds will cover the purchase of the building, licenses, equipment, and design. Coming from a community that has faced discrimination for centuries, we know what it’s like to be on the receiving end of undeserved hatred and it’s time we stood up for it. This black-owned entrepreneurial venture will be a step for us to create a space where people, irrespective of their color, size, or background can have fun and enjoy life. Every dollar you donate empowers us to bring to life our vision of a world with equal footing for everyone. We are grateful for your time and your support from the bottom of our hearts.

We will be giving away Bluetooth headphones with donations of $20 or more. All proceeds will go to this project.

Thank you!
