Medical Expenses for Bill Vierling
Donation protected
As some of you may know, Bill Vierling has a serious undiagnosed on-going illness for the last four years. After numerous surgeries, IV antibiotics & medical treatments his condition has not improved but worsened. The mounting medical bills have been such a burden the last four years that they withdrew thousands of dollars out of their retirement savings to pay off the monthly costs to doctors & hospitals. Most recently, the doctors at University of Louisville said they were at a loss and felt like Bill needed to go to a facility with a higher level of skill. Because of Bill's health conditions, he was transported by an air ambulance to John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore,MD. The air ambulance was unwilling to file insurance first & bill the unpaid balance. That meant payment in the amount of $11,000 was due at the time of transport causing a further financial strain. While at John Hopkins they were unable to pay the daily costs for housing so social workers at John Hopkin was able to work out temporary housing for up to 2 weeks at no cost but there are still daily costs for meals. Any help is greatly appreciated by the family because Patty is on leave at work without pay because all her vacation time has been used up for the year.
