Bill Bryant Funeral Expenses

If you are on this page then I will assume that you may also be a friend of Bill and know his incredibly brave story of battling reoccurring brain tumors for the past 5 years. Bill is in the final stages of his fight and rest assured, he fought like a warrior, clung to his faith, his family and his friends throughout, but the glioblastoma cancer has finally overtaken him.

While Bill was battling his physical disease, he was also faced with a huge financial challenge. How do you sustain yourself for 5 years with little to no income? Without complaining or uttering a word to anyone, Bill battled on while draining his existing funds to get by. He eventually signed up and started to receive Social Security Disability and food stamps. However, he was on a very thin margin to succeed.

Bill’s brother Jon, has a job that the work hours are somewhat flexible and constantly arranged his schedule to be home and care for Bill, many times working in the middle of the night to arrive home in time to get Bill up and make him breakfast. Jon eventually discovered that while Bill made an attempt to keep up with bills and correspondence, that too overwhelmed him and things got behind.

Jon has been working very hard to catch up and rectify some of those pressing issues. Thus, between them, there is no money for Bill’s funeral. After looking at the practical, the expenses and how to create a time where Bill’s legion of friends can say goodbye, the funeral cost would be $6,500. This would include a wake, a funeral or memorial service and a reception afterward (the reception is not included in this cost and is already being funded from other sources), and finally cremation.

We thought it best to cap the fund at $6,500, so that all participants would be assured that every penny collected would be going directly to the funeral home for expenses.

So many of you that I have spoken with and a whole lot of you that I have either never met or have only run into  at Bill’s bedside, have expressed through many channels a huge desire to “do something” on behalf of Bill. It has been very hard for everyone, to watch our friend battle such a challenging and strong foe but now your assistance is very much needed.

Thank you for being involved in Bill’s life and your contributions here will allow for all of us to grieve, remember our friendships and celebrate Bill’s life together.

Your contributions are deeply appreciated!!

On behalf of Bill and Jon Bryant,
