Benjamin's Flicker (heart)

www.rch.org.au/cardiology/heart_defects/Fallots_Tetralogy My sister Claire and her partner Bradley welcomed their first baby, a beautiful boy Benjamin August Chaplin on February 3rd. He is the most perfect addition to their lives and the lives of his extended family. What should be the most wonderful time in their lives has turned to heartache as they have discovered their little guy has a serious heart condition called Tetralogy  of Fallots which is a hole in his heart as well as pulmonary artresia which is preventing oxygenated blood from circulating properly to his lungs, he has a total of 4 heart defects which he will require close monitoring, many specialist appointments and will need to travel to Melbourne for major heart surgery by the age of 6 months. At just 8 days old he has already had his first trip to the WCH emergency in the middle of the night after turning blue while sleeping, something no parent should ever have to witness. Claire and Brad are not usually ones to ask for help, however no one could ever imagine finding themselves in a situation like this and they have agreed to let us do this for them. Any funds that people are able to donate, no matter how small, will help Claire and Brad to cover the costs of a long list of appointments Benjamin has coming up, as well as allowing them to take as much time off work as they need so they can both be with their son for all his appointments and when the time comes for them to go to Melbourne Bradley and Claire can both be there with for as long as they need to be without having the added stress of their next mortgage payments hanging over them while they help their little man overcome this hurdle. There is no way any of us can ever thank you enough for any help and love that you can send their way, except by promising to help Benjamin get through this and grow up to be an incredible, kind, happy, generous person.  We will post regular updates on how Benjamin is travelling via this page to keep everyone up to date.
