BallHoggs 9u Elite Basketball Team

Helping Our Guys & Girls Succeed, Inc. was formed in 2008 to provide social and academic programs for youth ages 8-21 in the predominantly Latino and Black communities of East Elmhurst, Corona, and Jackson Heights. Our mission is to support youth development and positive achievement leading to improved attendance and completion of schools of higher education. The BallHoggs sports program was designed to give the youth in our community “something to do”.  The primary goal is to allow youth to participate in challenging physical activities, as well as social interaction with their peers.  HOGGS believes in promoting education through athletics. Our goal is to enrich the lives of our athletes. Allowing children the chance to participate in team sports can affords them the opportunity to interact with others socially in a safe learning environment. We are dedicated to teaching our children the value of character, self-confidence, discipline, dedication, commitment and hard-work.



We need your help! 

Our Founder & Director, Coach Darnell (Snap) Childs  & Coach Vere Anthony are extremely dedicated in teaching our 9u/10u Elite teams the fundamentals of basketball & bringing the drive and passion out of each player. They are coaches that genuinely teach & take pride in the development of each our student/athletes. We train, educate and get to know each player so they may display their talents & love for the game of basketball. With over 15 years of experience in teaching our youth in the community, they still strive to give each child an experience that will carry on to their adulthood.

Since we don't have our own gym facility or partnered school, we have been shuffling our kids to different practice spaces and paying rental fees for gym space. Although, all of our parents stay actively involved, we are finaicially carried by their own donations and year long fundraising.



Your donations for our Elite Travel Teams will go towards the following:
Gym Rental Fees
Skills Training Equipment (i.g. basketballs, cones, resistence, etc)
Elite Travel Tournament Fees
Team Uniforms
Assistance for Hardships
