I went to Nicaragua for the first time four years ago and completely and utterly fell in love with the country and the people there. It was evident that the Lord put this country on my heart for a reason, so I have been back every year since. Last year it was clear that God had a different plan for my life than I had for my own (that's typically the case, isn't it?). So after praying about it my senior year of high school, I decided to forego college and go to Nicaragua instead. After an incredible time in Nicaragua I am now a freshman in college and yearning to go back to the people and land I so love. If you know me you have probably heard many stories of my time there, even though it is hard for me to talk about. During my time there I felt as though Jesus was turning my world upside down, but really he was turning it right side up. I miss it every day.
This Summer I will be translating and serving different mission teams that will come through the mission base where I worked last year. With the teams, I will visit all the places I did ministry (girl's orphanage, street ministry, children's bible study and more) and continue in my relationships with my friends.
I made a promise to myself I would go back as often as I could. I made a promise to my beautiful Nicaraguan friends that I would go back as often as I could. And most importantly I made a promise to my Savior that I would say "yes" to whatever calling He has on my life. I promised Him that I would go anywhere, at anytime at any cost to do His will. I am ordinary but He is extraordinary and he can use me because I am willing to say "yes".
My goal includes: flight, housing and food for two months in Nicaragua. Help me say "yes" by supporting me through prayer and finances.
