5th Grade Field Trip to Islandwood

Students here at B. F. Day's "Mini-Middle School" bring a diverse range of experiences and stories into the classroom - culturally, socio-economically, or otherwise. The wide variety of backgrounds makes for an extremely enriching environment as students apply their schema to the learning that takes place in each classroom.
With 3 subject specialists (math, science, literacy) working with each child, students are given permission to dive into each subject whole-heartedly and experience a depth of learning that they might not experience in a self-contained classroom.
One enriching experience we want to provide for our students is an overnight trip to Islandwood, a "classroom in the wood" on Bainbridge Island, WA. This 3 night/4 day trip engages students in the natural world, as well as their relationship to it!
