In the late afternoon of
March 3rd, 2014, Azrael was seriously injured in an accident. She was rushed to a local hospital, then shortly thereafter, transferred via ambulance to a specialty hospital. She underwent emergency surgery the very same night. She suffered severe facial trauma.
On March 13, 2014 she will undergo two surgical procedures. One to repair trauma to her eyes and eye sockets and install stints. The other to rebuild her face. She will need titanium plates installed to repair her facial bones.
In the years ahead, as she grows, Azrael will require a minimum of 6 additional surgeries to her face. She will also need plastic surgery to minimize scarring on her face.
Since the day of this tragic accident and for 4 to 6 weeks after her March 13th surgical procedures, Azrael will need 24 hour, 7 days a week care.
Azrael's mother is a self employed small business owner.
She has no "paid sick time," no "paid vacation time." If she is not able to go into work, she has no income. Azrael's father is employed, but he too will be missing work and income. Yet, there is still a lease to pay on the family business, a mortgage to pay on the family home, insurance premiums, utilities, gasoline to get to numerous medical appointments, food needs, car payments, incidental medical bills and the needs of two other children in the household.
Please help this family with their living expenses while Azrael is healing and income is lost.
