Hello!
My name is Ava Dingley.  I'm 14 years old, I'm a Dressage Rider, and I'm working hard to make my dream come true.
You see, I just qualified to go to the 2017 North American Junior/Young Rider Championships (NAJYRC),  July 18-23, 2017  !!
Ever since I was little, I've wanted to be an equestrian. I've been riding and studying dressage for 8 years now. My dream has always been to one day go to all the big games - the Olympics, the World Cup , compete internationally and more .   The honor of qualifying for the 2017 NAJYRC and the Region 7 team is one step in that direction.
Last summer I found my perfect dressage partner, my talented 8 year old Hanoverian gelding, Fürst von der Heide. Since September of last year, he and I have been working hard to become winning partners in the show ring.  We couldn't have done it without the help of our trainer, Olympian dressage rider Jan Ebeling.
Five days a week, every week, Fürsty and I train and work on all the components of our tests.
We had to compete to qualify for the honor of competing at the 2017 NAJYRC. It was tough. We had our ups and downs. But we made it!
So this is were all of you come in:  As you can imagine, this is an extremely expensive sport and endeavor. There are not only rider expenses, but all the  horse expenses.
We have to fly Fürsty and myself all the way from Los Angeles to New York . (Trailering to New York is not an option).  Saddles, bridles and all tack and grooming gear must come with us.  Along with the extremely expensive airfare, trailering expenses to and from the airports, feed expenses, hotel rooms, grooming, training expenses, the list goes on.  To alleviate some of the financial burden for me, since I am traveling the greatest distance, I am asking for your help.  I'm hoping to raise $12,000.
Is it worth it? The opportunity to represent North America and the Region 7 (California/Nevada/Hawaii) in a championship that is run similar to the Olympics or World Cup, and that trains us Juniors to become possibly the next ones to represent all of you at those games I believe is worth it.  I'm out here to represent as the best sportswoman I can be for our region and country, in the best possible way.
I wish all of this was just a drop in the bucket,  but that isn't the case.
So I'm asking each and everyone of you, if you can,  and you can find it in your hearts, to please help me get to my goal. Any and every donation,  no matter the size is truly deeply helpful.
I will forever be thankful to any help you can give.
I plan to make a banner to hang in New York that has all the names of all those who have donated to my goal.  You will be an important part of Team Ava and Fürsty.  If we win a medal,  it will be your win and medal, and please know that I could never have done it without each and every one of you.
I will be giving updates as we get ready....

P.S.  Here is some information about the NAJYRC:
NAJYRC is subject to the rules and restrictions of the FEI and is rated as a CDIOJY, which means it is one of the highest rated FEI competitions specifically designated for these age groups.
This competition is often the first occasion for a young competitor to ride on a team and teaches how to achieve a common goal through cooperation. The importance of teamwork and sportsmanship cannot be over emphasized.
Qualifying to ride at this competition is an accomplishment in itself. However, many riders have serious aspirations to make the top 12, or maybe win a medal. Some riders have a goal to someday compete on an international level, and the results of this competition  may help them toward that goal. Although this should be a fun and rewarding experience for all riders, the serious nature of this competition needs to be realized.
