Ashleigh’s Breast Cancer Fund

I'm a 36 year old mother of 4 children ages 17, 14, 10, and 6. I work as a parish administrator of a Lutheran church. I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer; stage II multicentric (more than one cancer tumor) invasive ductal carcinoma. My husband is a recent college graduate (2016) and has been employed at his company for a little over a year now and thank the Lord we have medical insurance.

The issue is that we were not prepared for a health crisis such as this and we have a high deductible that must be met before our insurance will begin to pay. The medical bills are adding up very quickly. On week one I had a mammogram, an ultrasound, a biopsy, and an MRI. Week two, I was brought in for another ultrasound after my MRI showed a second lump, followed by another biopsy, and a second MRI. I've met with a surgeon and will need a mastectomy and  reconstruction. I have had genetic testing done, and am now told I'll need to meet with a physical therapist to prepare for post surgery. Later, I'll require an oncologist for treatment and hormone medications possibly for the rest of my life.

 We have been checking into funds for breast cancer, but unfortunately those funds tend to help with regular monthly bills and most have a cap of $1000. I'm also going to have to be out of work for 4-6 weeks after the first surgery and possibly during treatment so our income will be depleted in short order.  

I really hate to have to ask for help, but I'm in the scariest and most overwhelming situation I've ever been in. On one hand I'm terrified of leaving my children without a mother and on the other I'm worried about how this will ruin us financially. I have to swallow my pride and ask for help on the financial side and ask God for help on the healing side. 

Funds will be used for my insurance deductible, medical costs, and supporting my family during the times I cannot work.
