Matt and I decided that we would like to add another sweet baby to our family. At 15 weeks we were told that it was believed our Sweet Guy has a congenital heart defect. We immediately began seeing specialist. Shortly after confirming with a cardiologist that Asher does in fact have a defect, we were notified that Asher possibly has T18. T18 or Trisomy 18 is a genetic condition in which Asher carries a 3rd 18th chromosome. T18 is considered a terminal condition. As many of you know, my first born suffered from a congenital heart defect that ultimately took his life. Asher's diagnoses has definitely brought back several emotions. As we prepare for Asher's arrival we are also doing our best to plan. While we have medical coverage we are still expecting several thousands for out of pocket expenses. We also expect to have extended time of work while we manage Asher's care, additional child care expenses to help watch the kiddos while we transition our newest little one to the family, and are hope to have family or friends come help after Asher is born. We appreciate all of the love and support during this complicated time. Please follow our site on Caringbridge to stay up to date on Asher's health and care.
