Darcy Studies Sculpture in Italy

Making clay sculpture has been something that has brought meaning to my life ever since I can remember. It is something that I had set aside in favor of more "grown up" ventures, including a degree and license in Clinical Social Work. My work in mental health gives me the opportunity to support people in finding their most authentic self. It is this place of deep connection that informs my art. Since moving to Asheville three years ago, I have been gently moving back to this creative, soulful work that I love.
In October of 2018, one of my favorite ceramic artists, Adrian Arleo, will be teaching figure sculpture at La Meridiana, a school of ceramics, near Florence, Italy.
This venture will offer a two week immersive opportunity to delve deeply into my own work with the support of a master of this craft.
This is a dream come true, and I am asking for help getting there. The tuition, room, and board are $2300 and the plane flight will be around $1500.
