Arianna's Awesome Running Chair
Eight years ago we opened this page to raise funds for the first clinical trail for Angelman Syndrome. We now have 8 new clinical trials that have some very promising results. We now focus on the birthday girl as we switch gears to celebrate Sweet Sixteen.
We now are wanting to give her her "wheels" for her 16th birthday. Although she will not be driving she should continue to run! Arianna wants to
continue to compete in distance running but has grown out of her running chair. This fundraiser is to help her get her Hoyt Running Chair. Most of
you know that Team Hoyt was the first to set the bar for tandem running.
Arianna is a fun, life loving, 16 year old. 14 years ago she was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder, Angelman Syndrome. At that time we were told she would never walk or talk, she would develop seizures and a sleep disorder, and that she would be profoundly mentally disabled. Today she still
doesn't speak, however she does well communicating what she loves and could care less about. She runs with her friends, and enjoys playing all kinds of sports, is active in marching band, drama club, and social activism. She has taught us that we create our own destiny. With lots of hard work and a smile, we CAN do anything. Help her reach her goal to receive her new running chair before summer running season starts!
