K9 Sonic Needs a New Set of Wheels!

Donation protected
In 2010, we began a journey to reinstate a K9 unit for the Arenac County Sheriff's Department. Budgets were short and drugs were taking over. Thanks to the wonderful and generous support of local businesses and individuals, K9 Sonic became a deputy with the department on August 1, 2011 and has remained a donation-funded unit since then.

K9 Sonic is a shelter-rescued Dutch Shepherd trained in narcotics detection, tracking, apprehension and handler protection. Over the years he has helped his 2-legged deputies locate narcotics, track subjects and has become a rallying symbol for this small community.

The time has come for K9 Sonic and his human partner, Deputy Sprague, to receive a new vehicle. Their current vechicle is ready to be retired and there just isn't the funding to purchase a new one. We are looking to purchase a Tahoe that will be equipped with a 2/3 insert (this will allow the K9 unit to transport a person in the back seat) and K9 heat alarm.

4.5 years ago we began this journey to raise money for a narcotics K9 unit. Over the last 4.5 years we have seen some amazing support. Now, more than ever, we need that support again. Every donation will help us reach this goal. Will you help us?
