Angelique's Medical Fund!

Donation protected
Hello Greater Community,
Please help my friend Angelique in a moment of need. She is the young loving single mother of 6 and she is the guardian of her neice and nephew.
Early this fall she passed out at work, falling and hitting her head hard enough that there is now blood on her brain. She gets dizzy and tired easily and is having some short term memory lapses.
Fortunately, Angelique's condition can be cured! At first the doctors thought she could be cured  in as few as 4 treatments of removing the blood sitting on her brain. But here is the challenge-  she would need to be in the hospital for 2 1/2 months or more, which she cannot do because she does not have anyone who can take her kids for that long.  So the doctors have worked out a plan with her to drive her to and from treatments and monitor her regularly at home so that she can continue to parent. However Medi-cal will not pay for this option!
*New Info*~After these first treatments the doctors have found that that her TBI or Traumatic Brain Injury is not healing as they had hoped because space that the blood is in keeps filling too fast. So now we are moving on to a mininimum of 10 more treatments-1 treatment twice a week. This will hopefully be agressive enough to fix the issue. But it does make it so Angelique cannot work for the next few months again. Recovery time is a few days and having the treatment twice a week will require her to rest even more. The treatment consists of heavily medicating Angelique and then poking a large syringe through her skull to drain out the fluid. It is as painful as it sounds and she is left with a headache from the meds and the procedure for a day or more afterwards.
Her kids have been troopers. They don't fully understand why Mommy isn't up for as much as usual but they are trying to co-operate more and love her up, of course!

For rent, utilities and medical needs I want to raise a total of $9900 to help Angelique and her wonderful kids get through this tough time. We are lready 1/3 of the way and I know we can raise the rest!

Please donate to Angelique's medical treatment and home rent fund today. Then please share this campaign with your community.

It is, after all, community that gets us through the hard times, works collectively to make changes needed in our world and celebrates the good times with us. We all need help sometimes and can offer it at other times.

Angelique and I met over 5 years ago when I gave her doula care through a program assisting young pregnant women who have aged out of foster care. I have always been inspired by her love of life though she has had such a  hard one.  She has had all the difficulties that come with being poor and black in this country. Yet she hasn't given up.  Angelique stays mostly positive and always a loving and commited mother. She has goals and dreams that are beautiful. I count her as one of my greatest teachers,  and my friend.
I truly believe in this young woman and mother and respect her greatly. And her young children need their mother home and healthy.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for helping Angelique and her lovely family. Thank you!

Gratitude, Jenna
