My name is Angelica Bigsby. I was born and raised in a Christian home in Houston, Texas. I am a proud product of the Houston Independent School District having matriculated/graduated from The Rice/La Escuela School (K-8) in 2005, and The High School for the Performing and Visual Arts (HSPVA) in 2009. GOD blessed me to attend and graduate from The University of North Texas in Denton, Texas in 2014 with a bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Visual Art Studies and a double minor in Psychology and Counseling. I also am certified by the State of Texas to teacher PK – 12 grade Art. Currently, I am a graduate student attending George Washington University in Washington, DC and Alexandria, Virginia, studying to become a certified Art Therapist.
I am a member of the Mt Hebron Missionary Baptist Church (The Mount) under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Max A Miller, Jr. It was at The Mount that my love for the Arts began, coloring Biblical characters in Sunday school lessons and in the Vacation Bible school lessons.
GOD has now blessed me with an opportunity to travel to Chennai, India (July 14, 2015 to August 6, 2015) for an internship where I will be working in a special education school, (a school for underserved children physical & mental health facilities) a children's cancer center, a substance abuse program for men and a women's shelter & group home. Additionally, I will receive 3 credit semester hours for this internship which applies to my degree program.
I need your FINANCIAL HELP, FINANCIAL PARTNERSHIP and PRAYERS!!! The cost of this internship is costly (Approx $10,000.00) and I cannot do it without your support. No financial gift is too small. The money is needed for hotel accommodations, travel expenses, insurance, vaccinations and tuition. I will be grateful for any amount that you can give me to make this trip of a lifetime possible.
I solicit your prayers for me and my classmates as we travel to India and back. GOD has placed such awesome people in my life who have molded/shaped me into the young lady that I am today. GOD did not bring me this far to leave me now. I believe that you will support me with a financial blessing so that I can be a blessing to others.
