In the early hours of November 1, 2015, a 14 year old girl was enjoying a night out with friends, unaware that her entire life was about to change.
Her mother recieved the phone call no parent should have to receive and rushed to the police station. Amy's parents sat down with three officers and ask if Amy was raped. The police – quiet, gentle, direct – say yes.
"She was pale and fragile and had marks, bruises all over her, on her neck. She burst into tears and said 'I'm so sorry'. We told her she had no reason to be sorry, it wasn't her fault. No one had the right to touch her, no one had the right to harm her."
In her own words, Amy* became known as 'the girl that got raped'.

Due to a range of legal issues and navigation of the complex legal system (including where young women are often put in person in front of their accused), Amy made the difficult and brave decision to discontinue the trial and pursue system reform instead to ensure any future victims would not be faced with the burden she was - an incredibly brave and selfless decision.
Given that Amy is doing everything she can to help other victims and survivors of child sexual abuse, we thought it was time to do something to help her.
Amy is now 16 and will soon be starting a University degree. All money raised through this fundraiser will go towards supporting Amy to kick goals at uni and make the most of the future she deserves.
No amount of money will ever take away the trauma she has been made to endure, but perhaps this fundraiser will be the start of a bright future and will show Amy just how loved and supported she is.
