In Memory of John Amato

On Monday, May 18, 2020 at the age of 60, John Amato passed away after a lengthy battle with various chronic health issues. He leaves behind his beloved wife and best friend Marion of 29 years, his family and his sons, James, Shane, Brandon, John and Luke.

For the past 4 years John fought many up-hill battles, coming out victorious to live another day…for his family! His final battle found him in hospital for emergency surgery, but this time unable to recover.

Unfortunately, with the Covid-19 crisis upon us, his family members were unable to be by his side in his final journey. His wife Marion got the call and rushed to the hospital, only to be held up by Covid-19 screening protocol causing her to miss saying goodbye. Johnny had peacefully passed away.

Mourning a loss at any time is heartbreaking, but trying to navigate a loss during a pandemic is barely plausible. As the family navigates through their grief during this unprecedented time, please consider supporting them. Our hearts go out to Marion, the boys and family.

It was John’s wish to make sure that his family was provided for, even after he was gone. So, to honour John’s memory, we’ve put together this GoFundMe page – The Amato Family Trust Fund to help support John and Marion’s two minor sons. Funds raised will be put in trust for their education and extra-curricular needs in the coming years.
