Amanda's Hope Fire Rebuilding Fund

A young mother and her two children were stricken by tragedy while they slept. Early on the morning of 12/1/13, a 7-year-old little girl was awaken by smoke so she woke up her mother. Mother did her best with a fire extinguisher, but the flames raged. Frantically she gathered her children and one young pup. Their 6-month-old puppy had to be left. Together they fled for their lives. Out into the darkness of a -40 below night with just a few sleep cloths on their backs, a pair of bunny boots and a set of car keys. By the time the vehicle started and they were able to make it to their uncle's home, everything they owned was lost.

Her dream was to raise her children in the small community of Tok, AK where she herself was raised. People in the Upper Tanana Valley have decided that her dream will not not die. Today, residents are pulling together to undo what the tragic fire did. Volunteers and merchants coming together. Builders, plumbers, electricians, and contractors are doing whatever it takes to get a warm, safe cabin and roof over the family's heads. We are asking for your help. We need your time, talent and resources to help in this humanitarian effort.
