This page has been written with the deepest of sorrow and our most heartfelt pleas for your help.  Allison has been nothing shy of an angel to every person she has ever met.  Compassionate, generous and supremely selfless, Allison has always chosen to see the good in the world around us.  She is defined not by her education or resume, both of which are impressive, but by the countless number of friends and strangers she has helped throughout her life.  Those who have had the privilege of meeting Allison have always come away touched by her inherent goodness and ethereal grace. And those who are blessed to have her friendship are constantly moved by her capacity to love.

In December of 2013, Allison received life-altering news when doctors discovered Invasive Lobular Carcinoma (ILC) in her left breast.  Allison did not want to make her diagnosis public. Instead, she carried on with her life with all the same vigor and joy that are that hallmarks of her personality.  She did begin a comprehensive program in the hope that it would mitigate the cancer's growth. However, in June of 2018, we were devastated to learn that the cancer had progressed to Stage Four, metastasizing into her skeletal system; her spine, sacrum, pelvis, clavicles, sternum, femoral, and humeral heads, ribs and Left axillary lymph nodes and skull.

Despite the diagnosis, we do have encouraging news.  Allison's treatments seem to be working!  Her most recent cancer markers are down and the disease has not spread beyond its current state. In fact, her two primary cancerous tumors have been steadily decreasing in size.  While we are overjoyed with her current results and have been grateful for all the support, thoughts and prayers we have received along the way, we are now making a compassionate plea for financial generosity as well.  As you know, the cost of health care is crippling, especially with a Stage Four cancer diagnosis.  Allison is unable to work and her disability insurance only provides her with $1,600 per month, covering just a small fraction of her needs.  Allison lost her father to cancer at a young age and though her family has been enormously supportive, it has been very difficult for them to provide long term financial support.  She needs your help.

Funds for Allison will go directly to cover her medical related expenses, which includes her COBRA insurance, doctor visits, medication, pain management, out of state transportation and lodging, (New York, Boston and Portugal), CBD, acupuncture, NET therapy, and physical therapy, as well as her most basic needs and living expenses.

Allison had been keeping her diagnosis private, naturally, because she never wanted to share any kind of negative news with people or share something with them that might make them sad.  It is simply not in the woman's DNA to be anything shy of positive and giving.  Even now, she is very reluctant to seek help. Still selfless.  Still an angel. But Allison is also a fighter. As her mother JoAnn shares, "Allison has always been a fighter. She was a premie baby and when she was born she weighed only 2.3 lbs. Her tiny hand barely encircled my little finger. She needed strength and determination to survive and I know now she will draw on those same qualities in this current fight."

But in this fight, Allison will not be alone. We will be with her.

We thank you in advance for your generosity.  Allison has always loved everyone around her.  Please find it in your heart to prove to her how much we love her back.  If you would like to reach out to Allison, in lieu of texting, she would love a card. Just email this gofundme page's creator and we will send her address.
