Help Alex fight ALD!!
Alex Oxford is the son of Gene & Carissa Oxford of Luling. Alex is a vibrant 8 year old boy with a love for sports, video games and cool cars. On May 9, 2012, Alex was diagnosed with ALD (Adreoleukodystrophy). ALD is an incurable disease that affects the myelin, which is the protective layer that surrounds the brains' neurons. Without this layer, the brain cannot function properly. If caught in time, a bone marrow transplant can be done to try to halt the disease where it is. Alex and his family will be in Minnesota for the next 6-12 months while he receives the bone marrow transplant. Alex's doctor bills are nearly $600,000.00 and he still has a long journey ahead of him. Please help his family as they travel this difficult road. For more information on ALD go to www.stopALD.org or visit Alex's Angels on Facebook.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
