African VR Photography Project

CAMPAIGN:

I need your help to create the first VR photography book of humanity's homeland! You may remember me from my past campaigns that supported creatives here in Baltimore, I'm proud to announce that this campaign will additionally support creators around the world.

I have the opportunity to stay in Southern Africa for the entire month of July (including South Africa, Swaziland, and Mozambique). Successfully completing this project means that I will be able to shed a new light on documentary photography from the double lens of someone not there to exploit but to learn, listen, and ultimately give back.

I want to create a book of my original VR photography not only to show Africa in 360 degrees, but to also pay my trip and experience forward in more than one way. 

The funds from this campaign will be used for travel & book publishing expenses, I'd ideally want to hit my goal by July (which is when I can travel to Africa). 

The final product will look like an (online & hardcopy) affordable published photography book, or Zine, of my original VR photography, available by early Fall. 

Hitting our goal will mean being able to create a book of VR photography who's (majority or all of) proceeds will go towards those I will work with and meet while on my trip! I'm planning on meeting so many great people, HERE is just one great example of them (which you can give to now). 

Because we will be staying with people who live there I will not have to pay for most lodging or meals, however being a recent college graduate I am unable to afford  other travel expenses (travel tickets, travel insurance, medication, and the publication funds to kick-start distribution).  

A good bulk of the funds raised, however, will still go towards this project's publication and photography. My photography means the world to me and being able to discover my roots through this medium would mean even more.
