Help fund Abby's cataract surgery

Donation protected

Six month old Abby was recently surrendered to Friends of the Pound. The people who bred her had her checked by the specialist vet when it became obvious that she couldn't see. They asked us to find her a home as the operation to fix her cataracts would cost $5000. If we wouldn't take her she would be euthanized. She was already 6 months old and a happy, gentle, loving little girl.

We want to raise the money to have her cataracts removed so she can lead a normal sighted life. We have had Abby desexed, microchipped and C5 vaccinated; now she is ready for her operation. We could get one eye done for $2,500. We would love to be able to get both done together and give her the best chance of a normal life. She is in foster care and has settled in well; she negotiates stairs and her way around the garden as best she can. Abby has such a lovely spirit.

If you can help us raise this money please donate anything you can.We are dependant entirely on donations and fund-raising to do this important work and all of our helpers are volunteers.

We hold DGR (Donation Gift Recipient) status with the Australian Tax Office, so that donations over $2 are tax deductible. Please contact us at [email redacted] or via our website at http://friendsofthepound.com to request a tax receipt.
