Hello all and thank you for taking the time to read our story! This story started with a vision. A vision of something more than just food. A vision that brings together our family, our Southern California food influences, and building a business that begins to make a difference in our lives.

When this family of 5 landed in Oregon we wanted to make a difference in the lives of our children. We wanted to show them that anything is possible, and only you control your own destiny. What it's turned into is more than just words now. We put our plan into action. We have recently purchased a food truck here in Oregon. The name is AZTECA. A burrito truck with a purpose. The food is Southern California flavors with local ingredients. The purpose is to provide our family with the means to support ourselves, through my passion. AMAZING FOOD... Our vision is becoming a reality...our food truck is big, and beautiful and filled with amazing energy!!!

Over the past month we have been super busy making improvements and upgrades to our food cart. We have removed and installed all new flooring, installed a new hvac unit, and working on the install of our new concession hood. We have also had new paint inside and out. All new outlets, and secured a location in Pleasant Hill near where we live. All of this being done with school, 2 jobs, and three kids…. Wow we are tired!

That brings us to the here and now… We need help! And asking for help is not always easy. That's why we are reaching out to our friends and family through crowdfunding, with a GoFundMe page. We are finding as a family, that with hard work support is usually not far away... We are also finding that no matter how awesome the vision, start-up costs are expensive. We are now halfway there….. Hopefully with this page and your support we can be fully functional and open on June 1st!!! With the funds that we generate through this page, we will be completing some installation and opening our food cart.

The remainder of our to do list is stated below and as we continue to work on our project these are the main items left on the list:
-36” Prep station
-Range top with stove
-Hot wells-
2 under counter refrigerators
-Pos system
-New propane lines
-New direct electrical wiring
-Advertisement
-New vinyl for our canopy
-Some initial food costs
-Sellers permits

The amount we are trying to raise is modest for a startup. We have put everything into this, because we believe in us. We have multiple friends in the business here in Oregon, and are working hard with them to minimize our start-up costs. Every dollar has been talked about and is accounted for. As well as every donation being appreciated so much….It's scary putting yourself out there sometimes. I thought long and hard about the how to's, and reasons for crowdfunding. Every time my thoughts come back to our journey, our journey to get to where we are today. It's been a long one. Not always an easy one. But we are so blessed to be where we are today. We are reaching out to our friends, and family. People who know who we are, and that we have what it takes to make it. People who know that today we live in the moment and are doing something for our future. From $20 to $2,000. Any amount helps our vision...Thank you to all of you who have been continuing to support our dream of becoming restaurant owners. more to come soon…..

we have included links to our Azteca Facebook page as well as a Facebook feature as a window into my career as a chef here in Pleasant Hill so far.

Sincerely
Marc, Rosa, Marc, Summer, Autumn. Our little Azteca family
