AWKN THE MVMNT MINISTRY

Awaken originally started as a God dream back in 2014 because of the undeniable need for more than just an ordinary Christian lifestyle. It slowly moved from a dream to plan of action. This consisted of gatherings in a backyard with young girls who had real stories and different backgrounds all across Chula Vista. Throughout the next couple of years, God began speaking even clearer on what he had not only for Awaken, but for the entire generation of young women. He revealed to us that our simple gatherings were much more than just simple, but instead a movement of God. We were seeing how lives were being changed, passions were rekindled, identity was found, and purpose was finally understood through the power of His Spirit and the entirety of His word. 

As we continued to seek His guidance we began to truly see what His heart was longing for us to do. So we prayed, we fasted and continued to seek, which led us to move out of a backyard and into a new place where we would have all of our Friday night gatherings. It became clear to us that the more we began to seek Him, the more He would reveal to us. We saw the desperate cry of division within the Church and knew that there was something we had to do about it. So we hosted an event titled "As One" for the sole purpose of unifying young women from any church and every background across San Diego. Though this event surpassed our every prayer and expectation, we've been confronted with the truth that the unity within the body of Christ exemplified that night is a lifestyle that we've been called to walk in. 

So now that we've experienced the pain of confrontation and the goodness of overcoming... We've decided to have our first annual conference this December to launch us into the new year. God has spoken loud and clear that we will no longer be gathering every other week in 2018 but instead, we will be gathering once a month for a longer period of time. We are removing all limitations and expectations so the Spirit of God can do as he pleases in and through our generation of young women. Up until thus far, all of Awakens funds have come from our very own leaders and parents. With all that being said, we can't go any further without your help. Our prayer is that you give as much as the Lord has put on your heart and that you're not bound to your own limitations for we serve a God without limits.
