A Mother's Fight Against Stomach Cancer

Life as you know it can change in an instant. Here's Allison's story:
*September 2018 a tumor was found on her stomach and surgically removed.
*Quarterly follow up scans showed no cancer
*June 2020, bloodwork scan showed abnormalities with red blood cells - Endoscopy with biopsies confirm Stage 2B stomach cancer
*August 2020 she began oral chemo and daily radiation
After 35 radiation treatments, 8 weeks of oral chemo, and 7 blood transfusions, PET scans showed that the cancer has spread to 6 lymph nodes and the liver. Her diagnosis was revised to Stage 3 stomach cancer. On November 05, 2020, her treatment regimen will be changing and she'll be starting a more aggressive chemo. Her new chemo cycle will consist of 12 chemo treatments over a 16 week period.
Sometimes life throws us challenges that we just can't overcome on our own. As a self-employed single mom with 4 young children (age 5-13) that depend on her, life can't just be put on hold while she deals with cancer. For those that know Allison, they know she's a fighter and will beat cancer.
She's fortunate to have good insurance to cover the major portion of the medical bills - but what insurance doesn't cover is deductibles, co-pays, child care, missed work as she recovers from chemo, etc. Being self-employed, she has no sick leave or alternate compensation that will kick in when she's not working. She is the only source of income for her family.
