ALL HEART Charity

Dear Friends,

I have always gotten excited during the Christmas season. However, this year is even more special. It takes on more meaning.

Last night I stopped at the store, and as I got out of my car listening to Christmas music, I felt the rush of crisp cold air and the smell of firewood burning! I thought to myself, this is going to be a good year….

I hope you feel the same way!

I wish Christmas was like this for everyone, but sadly it is not. There are some years that may be more difficult than other years for each of us.

For me, I know losing my dad in December of 2015, my family celebrations at Christmas took a very different meaning that year . The following December, my family was focused on my health, recovery and healing from Heart Surgery.

But, this December, I am determined to stay focused on all of the people and experiences that I am thankful for.

As you read this, I’m sure  you can find ways to relate to both the joys and the loneliness of your own holidays past.

No matter what life throws at us; maintaining a positive outlook and a certain level of gratitude, will always take us farther than not having it at all. There is always something to be thankful for!

So here we are at the end of 2017…..

Feeling more grateful for having gone through the last 2 years challenges, having heard of many of your own struggles and triumphs, we are not going to stand around and do nothing. We are going to celebrate!

The charity that Oxygen and Iron would like to spotlight and honor this year is the very one that helped me heal last December. The VCU Health Pauley Heart Center in Richmond, Virginia.

The VCU Health Pauley Heart Center focuses on saving and improving the lives of people with heart disease..

Their services include inpatient and outpatient care ranging from noninvasive cardiology to heart transplantation. As a  national leader in device-based treatments for advanced heart failure allow them to deliver enhanced diagnoses, planning and treatment.

Patients have access to interdisciplinary teams including cardiac, thoracic and vascular surgeons as well as interventional cardiologists and cardiac imaging specialists.

Their  work includes training cardiologists to serve as leaders in medicine, also leaders in research, with an active cardiovascular disease research program that furthers knowledge of heart disease, its treatments and its cures.

VCU Health Pauley Heart Center physicians are known worldwide for their work, including the Division of Cardiology’s pioneering use of a catheter-based laser techniques. Their  faculty are also known for expertise in acute cardiac care — they even participate in writing American Heart Association guidelines!

Thousands of patients trust the VCU Pauley Heart Center each year with their heart health. I happened to be fortunate enough to be one of them and I want to do something in return to help others.

A little help from a lot of people goes a long way. So, this is what we are going to do….

We are going to have a HUGE Community Charity workout to get our HEARTS pumping! This charity workout will be held on Saturday, December 30th from 8-9am. YOU MUST SIGN UP IN ORDER TO ATTEND. We ask a minimum donation of $25 per person where all proceeds go towards research and patient support of the Pauley Heart Center.

There are 2 ways to participate:

-Sign up and attend the workout with your minimum $25 personal donation. SIGN UP with us at the Studio!

-Just donate any $ amount OR sponsor a person attending the Charity Heart Pumping workout through GO FUND ME Link.

Most everyone is looking for a way to give back during the Christmas season. This is an important  way to support an individual that you can put a face with and support your local Richmond community at the same time.

Oxygen and Iron will provide everything else. ALL proceeds will go directly to the VCU Pauley Heart Center and local patients in need.

There will also be food, drinks and many awesome door prizes. It’s a win-win for everyone!

Thank you for your generous support as always!
