My name is Ashley Hejlik and I am an athlete competing in the sport of judo. I've been an athlete my whole life; however, I've only been doing judo for about 3.5 years now. I learned about judo at the ripe age of 24, when I was working in Kansas for a Fortune 500 company.
After about 6 months of training there, I put my career on hold, packed up my belongings and headed to New York to train at one of the top training centers in the USA, the Jason Morris Judo Center. For the past 2 1/2 years, I've worked to get to this point--ranked 5th in the United States and 2014 Senior National Bronze Medalist.
In order to represent Team USA, I need your help! I have numerous national and international tournaments on the docket for 2014, including El Salvador and Taipei. I do my best to personally finance all of the trips but the travel, training and tournament expenses add up quickly. Every donation received will go towards training and competing to reach the next level in my judo career. Become a part of my team and let's win for the USA! :)
