Hello.  My name is Kaiden Gardner.  I am a student at Rusheon Middle School in Bossier City, La.  I am an honor student that is a member of the Junior Optimist Club, band, and football team.  On October 1, 2019, my friend collapsed during a football game.  This was a scary for me and my team, especially hearing adults scrambling for an AED machine.

An Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is a machine that restores a normal heartbeat by sending an electric pulse or shock to the heart.   It increases the chance of survival up to 70%.  I know about them because my mother is a nurse.  It took the adults a while to find out where the machine was.  I don't think that should have happened especially in a rural area.  Fortunately, they did find the AED machine, the EMS team did arrive after seven minutes later, and my friend made it to the hospital for treatment.

I am asking my family and the community to help me to raise money to purchase AED's to travel with teams at all times and place at strategic places on the campus  of my school and church.  I also would like to help my friends get 1st Aid training and staff get Advanced 1st Aid training.  Will you please help?
