My name is Sherry Sobel and I'm the owner of A Cake In Time Custom Cake shop in Mt Sinai, NY. Many of my customers just call me The Cake Lady. Nine years ago,
with the support of my family and friends, I was able to leave my corporate job and pursue my dream of opening a cake shop. Now, after almost 2,000 cakes and almost as many customers, A Cake in Time is ready to grow and relocate to a larger shop, allowing us to offer ready to go baked goods, cake and cookie decorating classes and a create-your-own cake studio!
We are moving to a larger space in a great location in Wading River, Long Island, NY. We will become part of The Shoppes at East Wind, a unique shopping center with something for everyone.
We will continue to create great cakes for your events, but will also have delicious baked goods ready to go. I'm excited about the addition of our Cake Studio - an interactive cake decorating experience where we'll set you up with everything you need to decorate your own cake or cupcakes right there in the shop. With our open kitchen floor plan, there's also a work space where you can watch fondant cakes being created. This growth will allow to provide jobs and internship opportunities in the area as well.
Relocating and expanding a business is expensive. The money raised here will help cover licensing costs, lawyer fees, moving expenses, equipment purchases and more. Since this move is happening over the next few weeks - so we can be up and running for those spring events that need cake - these funds are especially important.
