“A Big Goal for Moe”
This is Morgan Warren. AKA “Moe”
Morgan’s Story ….
Morgan Warren is more than a great guy; he is a son, a sibling, a loving husband, and devoted father to 2 beautiful children. He is a friend, coach, teammate and confidant to many and is well known to our hockey family as “Moe”. Last week, Morgan and his family’s lives were changed by 1 conversation. Morgan received life changing news. At 37 years old the unimaginable happened, he had cancer. A whirlwind of events ensued following that visit to the doctor as Morgan underwent urgent surgery and commenced chemotherapy, all within 48hours.
This disease has touched many of us in one way or another. So many of us know and understand the commitment to appointments, visits to health care providers, trips to the chemotherapy unit, the medications, prescriptions and the shear exhaustion that goes with this disease. It does not only affect the person, but their family and their everyday living.
Friends want to surround the Warren family and do what they can to help, that’s understandable. Morgan and Jill are private people and our community will respect their privacy. However, with their permission (somewhat reluctantly), we have started this Go Fund Me Page in support to help offset this very expensive ordeal. This will allow them to concentrate on what means most…. staying focused, resting to continue this fight, and keep life “normal” for their children.
What his friends are saying ….
We are a close group of friends and brothers who want to help Morgan… even when Morgan questions if it’s fair, or selfish and even appropriate to have help, especially if there is someone else out there who maybe deserves it more. Typical Moe! Morgan and his family deserve and need our help and support, and yours too.
To quote Moe, “well I guess if they come to this site looking for me and find others in need, who could use the help more, well that’s a good thing too right.” Exactly right Morgan!
Moe has made a massive impact in his new home in the 15+ years he has been here in NL. With that said it’s not lost on us that Morgan’s impact reaches much farther than these shores given his impressive hockey career! Whether you played with or watched Moe in minor hockey, Junior, NL Senior Hockey League, the AHL or as far abroad as the German and Austrian pro leagues, no doubt he made an impact on you and you likely leaned or called on him when you needed. Though he’d never ask for it, Moe could use a hand now.
