C.H.E.F. - HEALING OUR SYSTEM

 

"We are all intimately linked in a newtwork of personal trajedy". How many people in your life  are suffering with or have died from diseases such as diabetes, cancer, hypertension, cardiovascular disease,  and stroke. Can you recall the pain you felt as you witnessed the suffering and death of these people?  The harsh reality is that the majority of us can.  We all share these experiences of suffering, hurt and loss.

     After experiencing the loss of six of my former co-workers and a family member in less than two and a half years due to diet-related illnesses and conditions, I made it my mission to  to bring healing and justice to broken food systems throughtout this country. Especially in the communities in which I have personally witnessed  and beem affected by a lot of this suffering.. Low income communities. Low income residents are more vulnerable to suffering from these diseases and ailment because of the lack of access to affordable, healthy and whole foods in their communities.

     Through this mission I recently became a chef and  created the organization C.H.E.F. (Consciously Healing the Earth through Food , LLC). This organization uses food education to empower and give people and communities the tools necessary to become advocates for their health.  The goal of this company is to address the issues that are destroying our food systems. The goal is also to teach people how to incorporate more whole foods into their diets in order to re-establish their connection with the  original and most sustainable food system, the earth. This is done through private chef services, cooking demos, cooking classes, lectures, workshops and in-home cooking and nutritional consultations.
