Roja's Thyroid cancer take down!
Donation protected
As you may know, our lovely friend Roja (Lauren) has recently been diagnosed with thyroid cancer. She has had two surgeries that have left her temporarily unable to work. Additionally, she'll be getting a Radioactive Iodine treatment, which essentially makes her radioactive. She's been instructed that after she receives the treatment she's not allowed to be anywhere near children or pregnant people and not within 3-5 feet of adults for 4 days. Additionally, she would have to wipe down any surface that she touches, to prevent residual radiation from remaining.
Understandably, Roja feels it best to temporarily quarantine herself after she receives her treatment. Because she can't work, she could need a little extra support for the following expenses:
$500 for a 6 day stay in a hotel (her quarantine "vacation")
$300 for living expenses (gas, prescription, food)
$500 to for her insurance deductible
$1,000 for co payments, medical bills
This is a very conservative estimate and doesn't include her $1200 co-pay for the surgeries. We all know it's difficult to ask for help when you need it, so I ask you to consider donating. It would be wonderful if we could surpass our goal and get enough donations to help her out with her co-pay as well.
Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.
