Funeral Costs

My father has been the strongest man I have ever known. He has spent his life fighting any and all obstacle that has ever come before him. He is also a U.S. Veteran. This past year he was diagnosed with lung cancer. He spent 6 weeks going to radiation and that took a toll on his body. This past month he has grown very ill. He was put in the ICU and put on a ventilator due to fluid build up on his lungs. At first the doctors were very optimistic in his recovery, however, over the past few days his body has grown tired and he is declining fast. My brother and I were faced with a decision no child should ever have to be faced with. With all of his organs failing and his strength to fight has diminished, we are now to the point we have to say goodbye.  This was all unplanned and very sudden! With him not having life insurance, this financial stress is now laid upon my brother and I, and we are in no way prepared for this. My father is only 64 years old and we had no idea we would be saying goodbye so soon in life.  We now have to come up with the means to pay for his funeral.
