Many of you may know that my brother, John has been fighting a battle against light chain deposition disease for many years. The body makes many different types of proteins. A few are bad for the body. John's body made one type of protein in abundance. This protein deposited in his kidneys and destroyed the ability for his kidneys to work properly. Luckily, he is in remission from the light chain disease. However, the damage has been done to his kidneys. He has been on ...dialysis for over a year now. The only way for John to live is to go to dialysis three times a week or to have a kidney transplant. His wife, Laurie was tested and is a match. Laurie has been my brother's rock through all of this. She has been selfless in her care of John. She agreed to donate a kidney to my brother without any hesitation. The transplant will take place July 15th. This page has been created to raise funds for the exorbitant costs that go along with the transplant as well as the lost wages both John and Laurie are facing.
